BM Events and Activation Officer will work across the rohe to activate and support all badminton events, programmes and competitions aligned with our strategic goals. Fostering key relationships with participants, schools, youth activity providers, Badminton NZ, regional badminton associations and our local community to ensure we co-design and initiate events that meet the needs of our community. This is a part-time permanent position – 20 hours per week, $25 per hour. Evening and Weekend work is a requirement of this role. (Start date 13th January approx.)

This position would suit an individual with the following experience and skills:

  • Experience in delivering a wide range of badminton activities in schools, clubs, and local groups.
  • This person will have experience in providing events, competitions or sports programmes.
  • Competent to lead and support local schools, groups or clubs, using initiative and providing solutions.
  • Organized and able to assume significant administrative responsibilities using computer based programmes including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide detailed records and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, work independently, and handle multiple tasks with efficiency.
  • Ability to work at various hours throughout the working week including evenings, late nights and weekends.
  • A valid full Driver’s License preferrable.
