TNBL 2023 Draw – Round 4

Welcome to TNBL Round 4!

Please see below for the Draw for Round 4:
– Week 1 – 27 Apr
– Week 2 – 04 May
– Week 3 – 11 May
– Week 4 – 18 May
– Week 5 – 25 May

There are 27 teams in total playing across four grades:

  • Grade 1 – 7 teams divided between two groups with 1-4 & 5-7 play-offs. There is a BYE.
  • Grade 2 – 6 team round robin.
  • Grade 3 – 6 team round robin.
  • Grade 4 – 8 teams divided between two groups with 1-4 & 5-8 play-offs.
  • All teams in Grades 2-4 will play 1 or 2 weeks at 7:30pm due to the number of teams in TNBL – please CHECK THE DRAW CAREFULLY EACH WEEK.

There are 29 teams in total playing across four grades:

  • Grade 1 – 7 teams divided between two groups with play-offs. There is a BYE.
  • Grade 2 – 6 team round robin.
  • Grade 3 – 6 team round robin.
  • Grade 4 – 10 teams divided between three groups with 1-4 & 5-8 play-offs.

Manawatu Open & u17 Open 2023

Badminton Manawatu are delighted to open entries into our first two sanctioned tournaments of the year:

We have increased the prize money on offer for both events:

  • Open: $1500
  • u17 Open: $500

There is also the option to play ‘Div 2’ in the Manawatu Open tournament to cater to players who might not otherwise enter.

ABCD Champs 2022

Open to all ages and abilities, both within and beyond the Manawatu!

KEY DETAILS

  • Sat 29 Oct & Sun 30 Oct
  • CET Arena 4 (B&M Centre)
  • $15 per event, per person
  • Play starts at 9am each day (hall open from 8am)
  • Saturday – all singles (morning) and doubles (afternoon) events
  • Sunday – all mixed doubles events + any remaining matches from Saturday (if necessary)
  • Entry deadline – Mon 17 Oct

Manawatu International 2022 – Cancellation

Some of you may have already seen the BWF & Badminton NZ announcements about the cancellation of both the NZ Open and the Manawatu International in 2022. An international badminton tournament in the Manawatu had the entire region excited, and Badminton Manawatu are deeply disappointed to announce its cancellation. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the planning of the tournament so far. We are already working with Badminton Oceania and Badminton New Zealand to explore options for hosting this tournament in 2023, so watch this space over the coming months.

TNBL Draw – Round 6

– Week 1 – 21 Jul
– No play on 28 Jul
– Week 2 – 04 Aug
– Week 3 – 11 Aug
– Week 4 – 18 Aug
– Week 5 – 25 Aug

Active COVID-19 Protocols:

  • Undergo a RAT if showing symptoms.
  • Masks to be worn entering & exiting the building, but not required within the hall for participants.

There are 27 teams in total playing across four grades:

  • Grade 1 – 5 team round robin with a BYE each week.
  • No Grade 1-2 friendlies to alleviate the problem of finding subs.
  • Grade 2 – 5 team round robin with a BYE each week.
  • Grade 3 – 5 team round robin with a BYE each week.
  • Grade 4 – 11 teams split between 3 groups with semi-final (Week 4) and final (Week 5) play-offs for all teams. There is a BYE in Group C.
