Shuttle Time Secondary Schools Competition
Badminton Manawatu’s largest schools competition! Around 420+ students compete annually with a focus on having FUN and skill development. The competition is open to all abilities from beginners to rep players and all are encouraged to enter and represent their school. We provide shuttles and racquets for those who need them, and a presentation in the final week of the competition, including trophies, medals and spot prizes!

Date: Mon 6 May to Mon 19 Aug 2024 (12 weeks of play) No play on 3 Jun, 8, 15 & 22 Jul.
Venue: CET Arena 4, 61 Pascal Street, Palmerston North
Who: Open to Yr9, Yr10, Yr11, Yr12 & Yr 13 players from all local schools
Cost: $200(+gst) per team
Time: 3:30pm to 5:45pm
Teams: 4 players per team (boys or girls, no mixed)

Competition Rules
This is a 4-person team competition, Boys or Girls teams (no mixed) and there will be Junior and Senior Divisions. A grading day may be run on the first day to assist with splitting teams into divisions.
The competition will include both singles and doubles, and games will be timed or to 21 points, whichever comes first.
Please note that is a team turns up with only 2 players then the whole tie/all games are defaulted (we will let them play their games if they want to for practice).
If a team turns up with 3 players then 3 games are defaulted automatically.
Subs can be used every week but please ensure this is organised before the competition – subs must be the same sex and the same age bracket e.g. junior or senior player. If subs are used in the finals they must have played at least twice during the competition.
