Manawatu International 2022 – Cancellation

Some of you may have already seen the BWF & Badminton NZ announcements about the cancellation of both the NZ Open and the Manawatu International in 2022. An international badminton tournament in the Manawatu had the entire region excited, and Badminton Manawatu are deeply disappointed to announce its cancellation. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the planning of the tournament so far. We are already working with Badminton Oceania and Badminton New Zealand to explore options for hosting this tournament in 2023, so watch this space over the coming months.

You can read about the cancellation of both events on the Badminton NZ website here: https://badminton.org.nz/news/2022/07/covid-uncertainty-delays-return-of-international-events/.
